eXtract, Transform, Analyse, Present, Simulate (XTAPS)
Extending TRIPS in many ways
XTAPS has built on the functionality developed under the TRIPS banner. It has overcome the missing "push button" ability to rerun the Extraction, Transformation and Load (ETL) - allowing refresh from a complex environment spanning many systems and involving gigabytes of data in less than half a day. In addition, XTAPS provides a significantly improved ability to extract snapshots of data from the source systems.
Configurable analysis
In addition to the ability to look at aggregated analysis, XTAPS allows this to be done at multiple levels, e.g. part, part group, material group, supplier, department, etc. This too is configurable. Complex operations, such as grouped pareto (ABC) analysis, can also be added quite simply. The reporting engine built into XTAPS can be used to generate complex reports (screen shots give a flavour of all the functionality).
Migrating XTAPS to enterprise systems
Functionality, originally developed within the XTAPS environment, is slowly being migrated to enterprise systems (see more detail).
Despite the advent of cloud technologies and much improved extraction tools over the last 5 years, the concept behind XTAPS (and it's precursor TRIPS) still seems as relevant today. Hermetica will continue to invest in migrating this concept into current product offerings.
XTAPS is fully configurable, extending TRIPS capabilities
Converting raw data to useful "drill down" analysis
XTAPS allows any data to be assigned a score and for this score to be weighted and aggregated - all user configurable. The illustration on the left shows 30+ scores (and the range), which has been aggregated into a radar and then bubble chart.
Useful addtional reports e.g. to support strategic sourcing
Whilst the data was collected for the purposes of part level risk analysis, the infromation can be used to support other types of analysis - in this case analysis of the supplier, the types of part and top 10 parts supplied into the organisation.
